How our affiliate program works

Some outbound vendor links on Merit Verified carry referral tracking. If you buy through one of those links, the vendor may pay us a commission. This page explains exactly how that works, which links are affected, and why it cannot influence anything we publish.

The wall: revenue never touches the score

  • The Merit Score is computed only from observable verification evidence — independent COAs, the labs behind them, measured purity, evidence breadth, and longevity. The full rubric and weights are public on /about. Affiliate status is not an input. It is not a tie-breaker. The scoring code does not know it exists.
  • Affiliate status has no effect on whether a vendor is listed, where it ranks, how its prices display, or whether it gets flagged. The same rubric applies to vendors who pay us nothing — which is most of them.
  • Every tagged link is labeled affiliate where it appears (price tables, vendor pages, rankings), and carries rel="sponsored" so search engines treat it as a paid link too.
  • We commission no content from vendors, accept no payment for placement or flag removal, hold no equity in vendors we surface, and process no orders.

Of the 57 vendors in the directory, 10 have a verified affiliate relationship with Merit Verified and 47 do not. We list, score, link, and (where earned) rank the 47 non-partners identically — including at the very top of the rankings.

  • Annual self-audit. At least once a year we publish a comparison of the score distribution of affiliate vs non-affiliate vendors. If partnering with us ever correlates with scoring better, that is a bug in our independence — and your signal to stop trusting us.
  • This page stays current. The partner list and counts above are regenerated from live directory data on every site build.
