Growth Hormone Secretagogues

MGF

Also known as: Mechano Growth Factor, IGF-1Ec, IGF-1 Ec

Research use only · not FDA-approved

Mechano Growth Factor is the C-terminal E-domain peptide derived from IGF-1Ec, a splice variant of insulin-like growth factor 1 that is expressed locally and transiently in skeletal muscle in response to mechanical loading or damage. After cleavage from the IGF-1 precursor, the 24-amino-acid MGF E-peptide acts independently of the IGF-1 receptor, helping activate quiescent satellite (muscle stem) cells to support muscle repair and hypertrophy. Synthetic MGF is the unmodified peptide and is degraded rapidly in body fluids; the related PEG-MGF kept in this directory is the pegylated form, in which polyethylene glycol (and typically a stabilizing D-amino-acid substitution) is attached to extend half-life. MGF is not FDA-approved and is a grey-market research compound with no controlled human efficacy data.

About MGF

CAS

Molecular formula

Sequence

YQPPSTNKNTKSQRRKGSTFEERK

Typical dose range

Vendor-reported research use commonly 100-200 mcg per injection, local/subcutaneous; no validated human dosing

Half-life

Very short (minutes-scale) for unmodified MGF due to rapid degradation in plasma; the pegylated PEG-MGF variant is engineered for a substantially longer half-life

Common research uses

muscle growth and recovery research (research only)satellite-cell activation studies (preclinical)experimental tissue repair (research only)

Safety notes

Not FDA-approved for human use; sold as a research chemical only with no controlled human safety data. As an IGF-1-related growth factor it is prohibited at all times under the WADA Code (S2). Theoretical risks include effects on cell proliferation; purity and identity of grey-market product are unverified.

Reconstitution

Supplied as lyophilized powder; reconstitute with bacteriostatic water and refrigerate after reconstitution.

Spontaneous self-assembly of mangiferin in an aqueous medium into vesicles for anticancer drug encapsulation and antibacterial applications

Natural products exhibiting spontaneous vesicular self-assembly are rare. Mangiferin, a natural xanthonoid, was isolated from the rhizome of the fern Davallia solida . Herein, we demonstrate that mangiferin spontaneously self-assembles in aqueous and organic-aqueous binary solutions, forming stable spherical vesicles.

Mangiferin as a Multilevel Modulator of Metabolic Syndrome: Current Evidence and Future Perspectives

Background/Objectives : The obesogenic environment is a key factor in the rising prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS), a major global public health challenge. Mangiferin (Mgf) is a C-glycosylated xanthone, and its preventive and therapeutic potential stems from its multisystemic pharmacological profile.
